I studied in Democritus University of Thrake (BS, Electrical Engineering, 1983)
and Athens University of Economics and Business (PhD, Computer Science, 1989).
I was a post-doctoral researcher in LRI, Orsay (1992-94), INRIA-Sophia Antipolis (1994-95)
and N.T.U.A. (1995-96) as a Marie Curie fellow of the European Commission.
I have joined this department in 1998 and since then, I have been also a visiting researcher
in LiX, Ecole Polytechnique and LAMSADE, Paris-Dauphine.

My research interests are in the areas of algorithms and complexity. I am especially interested in the
design of efficient (exact or approximation) algorithms for optimization problems arising in computer
and communication systems and networks, combinatorial optimization, graph theory and game theory.
I am a member of our Department's Theory group.

Most of my publications can be found in DBLP Computer Science Bibliography Server;
a complete list is available here.

I am also a co-author of the next book (in Greek):
J. C. Cavouras, I. Milis, G. Xylomenos, A. Roukounaki, Distributed Systems with Java,
Kleidarithmos Editions, Athens 2005, pages xiv+557, ISBN 960-209-829-5.

I am teaching:
Algorithms (AUEB, Dept. of Computer Science, Spring 2014)
Topics in Algorithms (AUEB, Dept. of Computer Science, Fall 2013)
Design and Analysis of Algorithms (AUEB, MSc in Computer Science, Fall 2013)
Advanced Algorithms (AUEB, MSc in Computer Science, Fall 2011)

Currently/recently, I am/was involved in the next conferences' committees:
