CarpeDiem: seize the day!

Calendaring services, weather forecaster and mail checking capabilities, all integrated in a cross-platform application, written entirely
in Java 2™ platform.

The components of CarpeDiem are all designed and implemented by the programmers and based on their needs. It has the ability of providing the user with email, calendar and weather information so as not to disturb him and set him back while opening new applications.

All the above can be achieved with a few clicks without even open a new window by using system tray menu and icon, popup balloons and multimedia representation of the information using fanzy icons, sound alerts and synthetic voice.

CarpeDiem can be fully configurable by offering extensive settings. In brief a user can:

  • Have multiple account support, either IMAP (with multiple folder selection) or POP3
  • Choose among 63 spots for weather predictions in Greece or add his own favourite spots worldwide
  • Personalise the synthetic voice by choosing the voice's pitch, word speed, volume and sex (male, female)
  • Choose among the default sounds or add his own favorite sound for alerts
  • Choose between sound and speech notifications for the memos
  • Have metric or standard system for weather prediction
